L-Theanine is an amazing amino acid found almost exclusively in black and green tea, which helps to relax your mind and protect your body.  It promotes non-drowsy relaxation by crossing the blood-brain barrier to increase levels of the relaxation neurotransmitters, dopamine and GABA, in your brain. This increases alpha-brain wave activity associated with alert relaxation and inhibits the stimulating effects of caffeine. L-Theanine also protects your body by supporting your immune system, which can become imbalanced by stress. It is a precursor to the antigen ethylamine that stimulates increased production of antibody T-cells. T-cells act like soldiers that regulate and fight battles against foreign organisms.
